About RYZE
Why do so many people leave a destination early — not because they dislike it, but because walking through it has become too difficult? RYZE ROBOTICS was founded to answer that question.
We partner with temsak (tmsk), a Japanese robotics company, to bring its seated personal mobility device, RODEM, into the tourism and hospitality sector — not as a medical aid, but as a means of participation.
Our work begins at the intersection of mobility, dignity, and the shared experience of travel.
Our Purpose
There is a gap that few people talk about. In daily life, most people walk comfortably. At a theme park, a historic district, or a botanical garden, that same person may be asked to walk eight to fifteen kilometers. The environment does not change. The person does not change. Only the distance does.
This is what we call the Walking Endurance Gap — the gap between being able to walk in daily life and being able to fully experience a destination.
RODEM's seat lift brings the rider to eye level with companions walking beside them. That change in height is a change in relationship. It means conversation without looking up. Photographs without crouching. A shared pace through a shared world.
The Device
RODEM is a saddle-type personal mobility device developed by tmsk (temsak Co., Ltd., Japan). Unlike conventional wheelchairs, RODEM is designed to be ridden rather than sat in — preserving posture, reducing the sense of confinement, and enabling its signature feature.
The seat elevation function raises the rider's eye level closer to that of people walking beside them. This single feature transforms the social experience of mobility — bringing the rider closer to the eye level of the people around them.
RYZE uses RODEM specifically because of this. We are not simply providing a way to move. We are restoring the conditions for natural human interaction.
Our Business
RYZE does not sell vehicles. We develop and operate tourism mobility services — placing RODEM within hospitality and tourism environments where the Walking Endurance Gap is most felt.
Our model is built around partnerships with hotels, tour operators, cruise lines, and destination facilities. RODEM is deployed through lease or usage-based arrangements, allowing partners to offer accessible mobility experiences without the burden of ownership.
The goal is not to move people from one place to another. It is to ensure that more people can be present — in the moment, with their companions, in the places they came to experience.
Related Project
A tourism mobility service powered by RODEM is already operating in Japan.
MACHIMOBI is a tourism initiative based in Yaesu, Tokyo, operated by SPICE Co., Ltd. Based at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu, it offers guided experiences on RODEM through one of Tokyo's most historic and constantly evolving neighborhoods.
This is the kind of experience RYZE aims to bring to more destinations — where RODEM becomes not just a means of transport, but part of the tourism experience itself.
